The Kenai Peninsula

"Alaska's Playground"

Just a short drive south of Anchorage is the Kenai Peninsula where your adventure awaits. Alaska is truly a bucket list destination and Kenai can help you start checking off that list. Kenai is a world famous destination for salmon fishing. It is home of the record king salmon caught by the infamous "Uncle Les Anderson".

Activities range from parasailing in Girdwood to world class halibut fishing in Homer, your options are endless. Our personal favorites include dinner at the Saltry in Halibut Cove, Kenai Fjord tours out of Seward, and hiking Winter Creek Trail at the Alyeska Resort. The drive between these cities is breathtaking, but try not to blink as you could miss the wildlife all around you, such as moose, bears, eagles, and caribou.

About Us

Travis and Kristi Lofstedt met in 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona. One month later they flew to Alaska where their love story began. At the time Cabins on the Kenai was previously called Harborside Cottages and was being owned and operated by Diana Lofstedt (Travis's Mother) as a bed and breakfast.

The Lofstedt family is native to Alaska and Travis was born and raised in the city of Soldotna/Kenai. Travis and Kristi currently live in Phoenix, Arizona with their daughter and spend their summers in Alaska.

Fast forward to 2021 and the cabins have been vacant for a few years. Travis and Kristi decided to give them a facelift and open the doors once again as vacation rentals.

Travis and Kristi want to share the beauty of this property with anyone who wants to experience all the magic Alaska has to offer. The cabins are clean, cozy, and overlook the Pacific Ocean on the mouth of the World Famous Kenai River.
